New Wave it up with Dent May and Shannon Lay at The Earl! Lorna Tucker’s documentary covering the life of Dame Vivienne Westwood, WESTWOOD: PUNK, ICON, ACTIVIST (2018) screens at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema, through July 12! Get jazzy with Kimberlye McKinney at City Winery! Get funky and groove on down to Café 290 every second and fourth Monday of the month for a taste of Bumpin the Mango, ‘The groove that makes you want to move!” Spend the night with Rev. Billy C. Wirtz at Blind Willies! Boogie on down to the Northside Tavern and spend an evening with Lola at her famous Monday Night Northside Jam! And get the blues with Larry Griffith at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack!

The Landmark Midtown Art Cinema kicks off their Film in Films Classics Series with a screening of David Lynch’s MULHOLLAND DRIVE (2001) at 7pm, including a pre-show intro and post-show introduction! Get sizzlin’ with Kool Kat Katherine Lashe and her burly-Q gals of Syrens of the South as they salute you with their Tease Tuesday Burlesque: Patriot Acts event, shakin’ it up at the Red Light Café! The Plaza Theater screens Samuel D. Pollard’s documentary, MAYNARD (2017) about the life and times of the first black mayor of Atlanta at 3pm! Rock out with Young Rising Sons at Aisle 5! Get some soul with Vivian Green at City Winery! Get countrified with Elise Davis and Jacob Thomas, Jr. at Eddie’s Attic! The Star Bar delivers a night of retro shenanigans with DJ Quasi Mandisco’s Little 5 Points Dance Party featuring retro-soul, funk, ‘80s, ‘90s and more! JT Speed gets down at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack! And as always, groove on down with Swami Gone Bananas at the Northside Tavern!

Wednesday, July 11

Get your post-apocalyptic sci-fi fix and catch a double feature of Katsuhiro Otomo’s AKIRA (1988) and Hideyuki Kikuchi’s WICKED CITY (1987) at Noni’s Bar & Deli during their Cinema Paradiso film event starting at 10pm! Or get campy and catch a screening of Robert Luketic’s LEGALLY BLONDE (2001) presented by WUSSY MAG at The Plaza Theater at 8pm (doors at 7pm)! Make your way to the Northlake Festival Movie Tavern’s Flashback Cinema series screening of Warren Beatty’s HEAVEN CAN WAIT (1978) at 2:30pm/7:30pm! William Green dishes out a night of rockin’ jazz at City Winery! Or make your way to Atlanta Symphony Hall for a night with Ludovico Einaudi! Chastain Park dishes out a night of retro fun with the Retro Futura Tour featuring Belinda Carlisle, ABC, Modern English and more! Get down to The Earl and spend the night with Kool Kat Jeffrey Butzer, Cousin Dan and The Trouble Obscene! Spend the night with Mermaid Motor Lounge and Town Mountain at Smith’s Olde Bar! The Vista Room presents Runnin’ Down a Dream paying tribute to Tom Petty and Mermer paying tribute to R.E.M! Get twangy with Neon Moon at Eddie’s Attic! Cody Matlock & the Mothership get down at Darwin’s Burgers & Blues! It’s Mai Tai Thursday at Trader Vic’s so hula on down for a night of rockin’ island tunes and killer island cocktails! Make your way to Blind Willie’s for a night with The Shadows! The Northside Tavern gets rockin’ with a little Chicago/Delta blues of The Breeze Kings!
