Get a second helping of soul with Marsha Ambrosius and Leah Jenea at City Winery! Get rocked with The Dollyrots at Smith’s Olde Bar! Jam it up with Joe Gransden and his jazz jam session at Venkman’s! The Star Bar delivers a night of retro shenanigans with DJ Quasi Mandisco’s Little 5 Points Dance Party featuring retro-soul, funk, ‘80s, ‘90s and more! And as always, groove on down with Swami Gone Bananas at the Northside Tavern!

Wednesday, March 13

Spend the night with Tom Baker as theatres across Atlanta screen his final adventure with DOCTOR WHO: LOGOPOLIS (1981) at 7pm [AMC Barrett Commons 24 (Kennesaw); Hollywood Stadium 24 (Chamblee); Perimeter Pointe 10; AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 (Lawrenceville); Avalon Stadium 12 (Alpharetta); Regal McDonough Stadium 16 (McDonough); Georgian Stadium 14 (Newnan); and Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18]! WUSSY MAG returns with their monthly campy feature fantastico, with John Cameron Mitchell’s musical film adaptation, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (2001)! The Star Bar eighties it up during their ‘80s Dance Party with DJ Kahle! The Highlander rocks out with their Punk/Metal/New Wave Karaoke Night, every Wednesday! Get a third helping of soul with Marsha Ambrosius and Leah Jenea at City Winery! Make your way to Studio Movie Grill’s (Alpharetta/Duluth/Marietta) screening of Richard Donner’s SUPERMAN (1978) at 7:15pm! Catch an 80th Anniversary Flashback Cinema screening of Victor Fleming’s THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939) at theatres across Atlanta [Northlake Festival Movie Tavern (Tucker); GTC Merchant’s Walk Cinemas (Marietta); Movie Tavern at Horizon Village (Suwannee); and The Springs Cinema & Taphouse (Sandy Springs)]! Funk it up with the Mike Veal Band at Tin Roof Cantina! Get jazzy at the Red Light Café with The Gordon Vernick Quartet! Or make your way to the Northside Tavern for a rockin’ night of blues with the Tyler Neal Band! Kool Kat Andy Ditzler and Film Love Atlanta continue a retrospective at the High Museum with selections taken from the 2009 series Civil Rights on Film, including George Stoney‘s ALL MY BABIES (1953); H. Lee WatersKANNAPOLIS (1941); and Nikolai Ursin‘s BEHIND EVERY GOOD MAN (1966), at 7pm. Get folksy with Pony League during the Historic Oakland Cemetery’s Grave Diggers event! Stomp on down to the Clermont Lounge for Kool Kat Spike Fullerton and Ghost Riders Car Club’s St. Paddy’s Pre-Party! It’s Mai Tai Thursday at Trader Vic’s so get down with some island tunes and have some killer cocktails! The Northside Tavern gets rockin’ with a little Chicago/Delta blues of The Breeze Kings! Get your boogie on at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack, as Chickenshack featuring Eddie Tigner, delivers some honky-tonk blues! And as always, boogie down at Mary’s, as the East Atlanta venue gets funky with their weekly Disco in the Village.

SCADShow presents a Legacy Series screening of Elia Kazan’s classic, ON THE WATERFRONT (1954) at 7pm! The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra takes you to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert while the film is screened in HD at Atlanta Symphony Hall! Get rocked at Sidebar’s Headbanger’s Ball: Metal Music Videos event! Groove on down to Venkman’s for Ladies of ‘60s Soul and Groove Centric! Time-Warp it up at The Plaza Theater as they continue their tradition of screening THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (1975) every Friday night, featuring the live cast of Lips Down on Dixie at midnight!

Saturday, March 16

Geek it up as Kool Kat Shane Morton, a.k.a. Ghost Host with the Most, Professor Morte, brings you a special science version of the Silver Scream Spook Show with two monsterific shows (1:30pm/10:30pm) during the Atlanta Science Festival! Morte’ and his gang of ghouls will entertain you before they screen Rouben Mamoulian’s DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE (1931), followed some geeky rockin’ tunes with your favorite genetically-modified rock band, Leucine Zipper and the Zinc Fingers at The Plaza Theater! The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra takes you to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert while the film is screened in HD at Atlanta Symphony Hall! Make your way to Eddie’s Attic for a night with Michelle Malone and Wyatt Espalin! Make your way to PULP Atlanta for The Thespian Society of Liberty College’s performance of THE COMPLETE WORKS OF QUENTIN TARANTINO, through March 30! Get glamorous at The Highlander’s Glam Rock Karaoke! Rev on down to the Dixie Tavern for Kool Kat Hot Rod Walt & The Psycho-DevillesCD Release Party! Every first Wednesday is the Graveyard Tavern’s Graveyard Swing Night, featuring the swingin’ jazz and boogie-woogie sounds of the Savoy Kings!
