Andy Hawley’s Psychobilly Freakout Radio broadcasting on Garage 71 at 8pm, every Monday! Get your vinyl fix at Little 5 Points Corner Tavern’s Records of Mass Destruction, every Monday! Boogie on down to the Northside Tavern and spend an evening with Lola at her famous Monday Night Northside Jam! And blues on down to Fat Matt’s Rib Shack for a side of rockin’ blues and a plate full ‘o finger lickin’ BBQ!

Tuesday, March 10

Make your way to Landmark Midtown Art Cinema as they continue their killer Classics Series with a screening of Robert Downey Sr.’s PUTNEY SWOPE (1969) at 7pm! Jam it up with Joe Gransden and his jazz jam session at Venkman’s! Hula on down to Waller’s Coffee Shop for a Ukulele Jam! And as always, groove on down with Swami Gone Bananas at the Northside Tavern!


Wednesday, March 11

Emory Cinematheque continues their African-Americans in American Film Series with a screening of Julie Dash’s DAUGHTERS OF THE DUST (1991) at 7:30pm in White Hall 208! Make your way to The Plaza Theater for a Wussy Wednesdays (WUSSY MAG) screening of Jeff Kanew’s TROOP BEVERLY HILLS (1989) at 7pm! Spend the night with Bernadette Seacrest at Waller’s Coffee Shop! Get criminal and catch a screening of Martin Scorsese’s GOODFELLAS (1990) at theatres across Atlanta [Northlake Festival Movie Tavern (Tucker); GTC Merchant’s Walk Cinemas (Marietta); Movie Tavern at Horizon Village (Suwannee); and The Springs Cinema & Taphouse (Sandy Springs)! The Highlander rocks out with their Skaryoke! Punk/Metal/New Wave Karaoke Night, every Wednesday! Get jazzy at the Red Light Café with The Gordon Vernick Quartet! Funk it up with the Mike Veal Band at Tin Roof Cantina! Or make your way to the Northside Tavern for a rockin’ night of blues with the Tyler Neal Band! Get artsy and Enter the Microverse II at The Odd’s End! Or French folk it up with Pierre Bensusan at Eddie’s Attic! The Northside Tavern gets rockin’ with a little Chicago/Delta blues of The Breeze Kings! Get down with Eddie 9V at Blind Willies! Get your boogie on at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack, as Chickenshack delivers some honky-tonk blues! And as always, boogie down at Mary’s, as the East Atlanta venue gets funky with their weekly Disco in the Village.

Friday, March 13

Get bizarre with Videodrome and The Plaza Theater as they present An Evening with Deadly Prey Gallery, featuring the Chicago-based art gallery dedicated to the hand-painted movie posters from Ghana, followed by a Q&A with Brian Chankin (DPG founder) and a screening of David A. Prior’s DEADLY PREY (1987), all beginning at 6pm [exhibit through March 19]! Or catch a Legacy Series screening of Sergio Leone’s THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY (1967) at SCADShow at 7pm! Head to a galaxy far, far away as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra brings you George Lucas’s STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) in concert at Atlanta Symphony Hall! Terror goes retro as Folklore Haunted House in Acworth brings you Attack of the 1980s! Stomp on down to Waller’s Coffee Shop for a night with The Villain Family! Garage rock it up at The Earl with The Black Lips! Get mystical and shop the Seelie Court Marketplace! Get artsy and Enter the Microverse II at The Odd’s End! Time-Warp it up at The Plaza Theater as they continue their tradition of screening THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (1975) every Friday night, featuring the live cast of Lips Down on Dixie at midnight!

Saturday, March 14

Get monsterific with Kool Kat Shane Morton, a.k.a. ghost host with the most, Prof. Morte and his Silver Scream Spook Show at The Plaza Theater with a screening of James Whales’s classic BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) and Ghoul Gal shenanigans at 1:30pm and 10pm! Geek it up at North Dekalb Mall in Decatur during The Atlanta Sci-Fi and Fantasy Expo, through March 15! Make your way to the Center for Puppetry Arts’ s Puppets & Pints event! Sci-fi it up at The Earl Smith Strand Theatre’s Silent Film Series screening of Fritz Lang’s METROPOLIS (1927) at 7:30pm, with organ accompaniment by Clark Wilson! Horror punk it up at The Pointe in Conyers for ELZIG’s Birthday Bash, featuring Kool Kats The Casket Creatures and The Spectremen! Shake it up at the Red Light Café during They Might be Glittered: Geek Music at its Sexiest! Departure pays tribute to Journey at The Vista Room! New-Wave it up with Kool Kat VJ Anthony during an 80s New Wave Music Video Dance Party every 2nd Saturday of the month at Amsterdam Atlanta! Head to a galaxy far, far away for a second night as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra brings you George Lucas’s STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI (1983) in concert at Atlanta Symphony Hall! Every first and third Mondays are Big Band Nights at Café 290, featuring Joe Gransden and his amazing 16-piece orchestra playing jazz and swing standards in the tradition of The Glen Miller Orchestra and other legendary groups.  Second and fourth Mondays are Bumpin the Mango, ‘The groove that makes you want to move!’

Every first Wednesday is the Graveyard Tavern’s Graveyard Swing Night, featuring the swingin’ jazz and boogie-woogie sounds of the Savoy Kings!
