The Vista Room presents their Dining Room Series featuring Diane Durrett and Michael Tolcher! Swing on by Big Band Night featuring Joe Gransden and his amazing 17-member orchestra at Café 290 every first and third Monday of the month! Rock out and tune into Kool Kat Rev. Andy Hawley’s Psychobilly Freakout Radio broadcasting on Garage 71 at 8pm, every Monday! Get your vinyl fix at Little 5 Points Corner Tavern’s Records of Mass Destruction, every Monday! Boogie on down to the Northside Tavern and spend an evening with Lola at her famous Monday Night Northside Jam! And blues on down to Fat Matt’s Rib Shack for a side of rockin’ blues and a plate full ‘o finger lickin’ BBQ!

Tuesday, March 3

Get rocked with The Cowboys at The Earl! Make your way to Landmark Midtown Art Cinema as they continue their killer Classics Series with a screening of Barbara Loden’s WANDA (1970) at 7pm, or catch a special screening of Sabina Fedeli and Anna Migotto’s ANNE FRANK PARALLEL STORIES (2019), starring Helen Mirren at 7pm! Jam it up with Joe Gransden and his jazz jam session at Venkman’s! Hula on down to Waller’s Coffee Shop for a Ukulele Jam! And as always, groove on down with Swami Gone Bananas at the Northside Tavern!

Wednesday, March 4

Get thrilled with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s NORTH BY NORTHWEST (1959) at theatres across Atlanta [Northlake Festival Movie Tavern (Tucker); GTC Merchant’s Walk Cinemas (Marietta); Movie Tavern at Horizon Village (Suwannee); and The Springs Cinema & Taphouse (Sandy Springs)! Emory Cinematheque continues their African-Americans in American Film Series with a screening of Wolfgang Petersen’s ENEMY MINE (1985) at 7:30pm in White Hall 208! The Cazanovas host a blues jam and dance party at Blind Willie’s! The Highlander rocks out with their Skaryoke! Punk/Metal/New Wave Karaoke Night, every Wednesday! Get jazzy at the Red Light Café with The Gordon Vernick Quartet! Funk it up with the Mike Veal Band at Tin Roof Cantina! Or make your way to the Northside Tavern for a rockin’ night of blues with the Tyler Neal Band! And as always, it’s Ladies Night at Johnny’s Hideaway which plays hits from Sinatra to Madonna for a generally mature crowd.

Thursday, March 5

Hilarity ensues as Cineprov riffs Brian Trenchard-Smith’s LEPRECHAUN IN SPACE (1996) at The Plaza Theater at 7:30pm! Jazz it up with Four80East at Suite Food Lounge! Get the rockin’ blues with Mandi Strachota at The Vista Room! Catch a screening of Roger Spottiswoode’s AND THE BAND PLAYED ON (1993) at 7:30pm in White Hall 208 at Emory! Folk rock it up with Arlo Guthrie at the Variety Playhouse! The Northside Tavern gets rockin’ with a little Chicago/Delta blues of The Breeze Kings! Get your boogie on at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack, as Chickenshack delivers some honky-tonk blues! And as always, boogie down at Mary’s, as the East Atlanta venue gets funky with their weekly Disco in the Village.

Friday, March 6

Get your ukuleles ready and hula on down to Inuhele Atlanta Tiki Weekender Friday – Sunday (March 6-8) at the Sheraton Downton Atlanta, hosted by Jonathan Chaffin and Horror in Clay (see our Shop Around feature here) and Mug Crate (check out our Kool Kat Interview with Alison Chaffin here). The Atlanta Fair is in town, so come on out for a smashing good time through April 12! Surf on into Friday night’s events including panels, karaoke, old-school movies [Delmer DavesBIRD OF PARADISE (1951) and Abbott & Costello’s AFRICA SCREAMS (1949)], tiki-tastic vending (Derek Yaniger’s (see our Kool Kat interview with Derek here) and more! Tribute celebrates the music of the Allman Brothers at The Vista Room! Spend the night with Pleasure Club at The Earl! Time-Warp it up at The Plaza Theater as they continue their tradition of screening THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (1975) every Friday night, featuring the live cast of Lips Down on Dixie at midnight!

Saturday, March 7

Get rocked for a good cause at Allison’s Upbeat Birthday Bash at Little Tree Art Studios in Avondale Estates featuring live tunes with the Screamin’ Demons, Kool Kats The Disapyramids, Kool Kat Sen. Artie Mondello with The Mondellos, Chrome Castle and more! Hula on down to Inuhele Atlanta Tiki Weekender Day 2, featuring panels on all things island and tiki including history, cocktails, cooking, art, and more! And you won’t want to miss a screening of Rowland V. Lee’s CAPTAIN KIDD (1945) at 9pm! Post-punk it up with WIRE at the Variety Playhouse! Or get down with Big Head Todd & The Monsters with Los Colognes at the Buckhead Theatre! Spend a second night with Pleasure Club at The Earl! The Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus brings you Queens & Queen at the Lassiter Concert Hall in Marietta! Get the blues with Mudcat at Waller’s Coffee Shop! Paradocs get down at The Earl Smith Strand Theater! Folk it up with Mike Killeen at Eddie’s Attic! Get your Gypsy jazz fix with Kool Kat Amy Pike and the Bonaventure Quartet at Ziba’s in Grant Park! And as always, DJ Romeo Cologne and DJ Kwasi Mandisco transforms the sensationally seedy Clermont Lounge into a ’70s disco/funk inferno late into the wee hours of the night.

Every first Wednesday is the Graveyard Tavern’s Graveyard Swing Night, featuring the swingin’ jazz and boogie-woogie sounds of the Savoy Kings!
